I was about 10 years old when I got my first camera from a friend of my father’s. I started to take it everywhere I went shooting anything I saw. In Jr. High School I took a photography class. Guess I was lucky that our school had a functioning b&w darkroom that I could learn to develop film and make prints. 

 

My father was an actor and director and growing up in Los Angeles you cannot help but be influenced by the media. My parents took me to movies and theatre and the museum from a young age. I used to ride in the back of my dad’s car listening to music and looking out the windows daydreaming about the way the sounds combined with what I saw as we drove and how it made me feel. 

 

Around that time I discovered the music of rock legend Jimi Hendrix and reggae’s Crown Prince, Dennis Brown and was totally hooked. I bought a guitar at 14 and started a band with friends. From that point on I have been playing music and creating images ever since. 

 

Ultimately I went to college at California State University, Northridge where I attained a B.A. in music. After college I worked for ten years in the record business for various major and independent labels including Interscope and Warner Bros. Records. At the same time recording and performing live in numerous bands touring up and down the west coast. 

 

Following that I joined the production industry in Los Angeles where I work as a production sound mixer and on-set video technician for major commercials and music videos. During my 15 years of experience I have completed commercial campaigns for Apple Music, Samsung, LG, Kia, Hyundai, and Chevrolet among others. And music videos for artists such as Rihanna, Erykah Badu, David Bowie, and Prince, to name a few. 

 

Most recently I just finished commercials for L’Oreal, Dyson and Target. Also, music videos for Shawn Mendes aBillie Eilish. It is great to be able to work alongside some of the best directors and watch how they make their magic.
